Dubai to Construct World's First Mosque Using 3D Printing Technology

The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) of Dubai is building the world's first official mosque utilising 3D printing technology, which is scheduled to open in 2025 and have a capacity of 600 worshippers.

The mosque will be built in Bur Dubai, the UAE's historic district. The 3D printing procedure will take four months, with a further twelve months for facility installation. To save waste, the mosque will be built with a mix of raw materials and concrete.

Three people will run a 3D printer that can produce two square metres per hour. The 3D printed mosque is expected to cost 30% more than a regular mosque, and its design is still being debated by IACAD and Dubai Municipality authorities.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced the "Dubai 3D Printing Strategy" in 2016 with the goal of making Dubai a tech superpower by 2030.

Dubai has invested in 3D printing technology and amended its construction rules in order to achieve the city's objective of 3D printing 25% of all new development. Dubai has always been a city that pushes the boundaries of what is possible in the worlds of building and architecture.

The world's first official 3D printed mosque, with a capacity of 600 worshippers, is scheduled to open in 2025. The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) of Dubai is developing this initiative, which demonstrates the city's dedication to adopting cutting-edge technology and rethinking the future.

The mosque will be built in Bur Dubai, a historic district of the UAE, employing a mix of raw materials and concrete to save waste. The 3D printing procedure will take 4 months, with an additional 12 months for facility installation.

Finally, the world's first 3D printed mosque represents Dubai's desire for innovation and dedication to embracing technology.

More projects like these that question the traditional manner of construction and envision the future should be expected as the city continues to push the boundaries of what is possible. Whether you live in Dubai or are simply passing through, this mosque is likely to be a distinctive and intriguing addition to the city's already spectacular skyline.
